1984
1984 REVEALED THE PATTERN’S POTENTIAL.
Cultural convergence, the movement of ideas, audiences and influence across disciplines, did not begin in 1984. But that year brought the pattern into sharp focus.
Across technology, music, media and sport, the same dynamic was unfolding at extraordinary scale.

Steven Bramble spent 27 years at Nike, shaping how people connect with brands, products and communities.
Through that work, he observed a recurring pattern: institutions invested in the same communities through separate programmes, partners and measures, while the infrastructure connecting their efforts remained fragmented.
That experience, combined with a long-standing study of cultural convergence, led to 84X and 84XOS™, the model for turning fragmented activity into sustained participation.
